If anyone gets this at the end of this week can you confirm how many it is online. Whenever I look at details for the game I find loads about the 2 player co-op online but I have yet to find out for sure whether it has a 2v2 mode and if so what options etc you can play, spawn or not or game types etc.

I got some additional info at last but still let me know if any of you get it and what its like.

Here are the game modes for Online 2v2 (taken from the Army of 2 Site), also worth noting that you can play 2 player split screen on 2v2

-Bounties - Ao2 Bounties is a fast-paced 2 vs. 2 experience that challenges opposing teams to destroy important objectives and assassinate key enemy targets. A quick strike can turn the tide of war!

-Extraction - Ao2 Extraction is an intense and strategic 2 vs. 2 experience that challenges teammates to work closely with one another to complete challenging escort and defend/attack objectives. In times of strife, it's important to protect high-profile targets!

-Warzone - Ao2 Warzone is a diverse and chaotic 2 vs. 2 experience that has a wide variety of objectives including: attack/defend, extract, guard, assassinate, destroy and more. In the heat of battle, anything can happen!

And a VID of 2v2

Ta Da! AO2 is out and it’s angry. And if you don’t pay attention it will kick your ass and then move into your home and make long distance calls. So buy it or suffer the pain. Moving on, AO2 versus mode is pretty sweet. We really wanted to do something different from your standard multiplayer formats and went in a new direction altogether. It’s 2 versus 2 objective based competitions. I have had a lot of fun playing it and will tell you guys about some of the finer points.

So you can play 10, 15 or 20 minutes matches on a choice of 4 maps in the box. In each match the teams will square off 2 vs. 2. Both teams have to compete against each other to complete the objectives and only one team can succeed at each one. The team that completes each objective is rewarded with cash. But not only do the teams have to worry about each other but they have to worry about various kinds of NPCs that are roaming around in environment. It’s a chaotic and fun game play experience.

Now, there are 3 game types that the players can compete in. There is ‘Extraction’ which requires the teams to try and get a hostage from where they find him to his extraction point. One player has to carry the hostage (which slows the player down) while the other covers him. If the other team is able to intercept and exterminate the team with the hostage, they can then pick up the hostage themselves and try and bring him to the extraction point. The next feature is ‘Bounties’. This is based on assassinating certain NPCs in the map. These can vary from heavy soldiers to elites to sequences of grunts. The last (and my personal favorite) is ‘Warzone’. This is both the previous modes mixed together with a few new variations thrown in. During the match random objectives will generate and the teams must find and complete them. At the end of a match the team with the most amount of money wins. Players are individually rewarded for killing NPCs, opponents or completing secondary objectives.

A lot of people ask if the guns you buy and upgrade in the campaign mode carry over into the multiplayer. The answer is no. They are 2 completely separate economies. In versus mode players can buy weapons kits during matches (similar to counter strike) but it will subtract from their money totals so players have to be careful about their spending habits if they want to win.

So that’s the basic rundown on AO2 versus mode. If you want a couple of tips, TOO bad…no wait, I’ll give you some. First, it’s good to not to get caught up in grudge match fire fights, especially if you’re losing. It wastes time and you don’t make enough money. It’s always a good idea to kill and move. Also, remember that it’s a cover game. It’s really easy to start Rambo’ing around but more often than not you are going to pay for it. Try to stay mobile while using cover. It’s tricky, but once you get the hang of it you’ll start roflecoptering your opponents. Third, don’t be afraid to spend money on guns early and fall a little behind. The better weapons kits will end up saving you time and making you a lot of money later in the match. And finally, it’s always a good idea play with friends just to reduce the chances of strangers randomly dropping out and it to insure a better quality of connection. Sound good? Good. Now get out there and pwn some noobs.

Looks quite fun, though I'm not too sure about bullets bouncing off of everyone (I mean, he picked up some hostage, who then went on to be shot about 7 times with no ill-effects lol)

game looks "ok", not sure how much fun you could have playing 2v2 over and over again. Doubles matches are fun for a while but its nice to balance it out with some proper "team" games.

Although I guess they were developing a co-op game mainly so it was always going to be 2v2.

If the reveiws are good I might pick it up. still mainly waiting on vegas 2 though

Looks sexy as fuck graphically, the cut sense feel like your watching a movie
Buttons are a bit fiddle, Yet to play it online, if you looking for something a bit different story wise and game-play wise ... this might be it. I'm enjoying it, and I'm hard to please

Cool

If its is good online, and CG do a ladder or anything, I'm up for that

Well Dan,

When I am back in two weeks time I will do the Co-op with you....CG are still deciding on whether to have a ladder but if they do then maybe we can get some doubles in.

Yeah cool scott, i must warn you tho, i played online, Its very much like call of duty in the way you cant find a room yourself, you have to "search" for one, or make a privet room.
the maps are bigg, a bit too big for 2v2, and to get new guns & amour ect, you have to have enough money, just like in the offline mode. im not sure weather it worth playing it online really, the offline story mode is great tho,

To add to what iv already said before:

The game play is all about how you & your team mate interact IE getting him to move forwards drawing fire so you can sneak around the back of the enemies to kill the on the solid snake.
There are other features using the team work thing as well some useful some just added for occasional use, The enemy AI offline is really random, some times they walk straight past you
when your taking cover and take cover behind you, on some parts there are stupid amounts of enemies and takes ages to get them all, There's a Gun modification thing, where you can add new stuff to guns you've already brought, you cant pick up your enemy's guns at all the only thing you can pick up in game is Ammo

You always have 3 weapons on you, Primary (IE, M4 AK47) Secondary (Anything From MP5K To DE) And Special (Sniper, RPG)

One thing that annoyed me was you cannot pick hard mode (or what ever its called o the game) at from the start you need to unlock it, so iv had to play it on medium, witch at points is stupidly hard

So out of 10, id give the game 7.5

let downs:
Story mode is short.
Ememy AI is stupid at points.
The money thing.
Online Mode.

Good Points:
Stunning Graphics.
Good Story Line.
Easy Game Play.
& The Tag Team Thing.

I don't think ill be keeping it, come release of RB6:V2

Dan,

The reason the maps are big for a 2v2 is because they are objective based and not just run and gun. In fact one mode has multiple objectives that the sides can do to clock up the cash.

Anyway, the story mode is also available by co-op online so I will still play that with you, if you still have the game by the time I am back.
