confirmed socom gets delayed again |
|
Our impressions of SOCOM Confrontation made it clear: the game needed some extra work. The hotly anticipated PSN game looked great in the alpha build that we played, but nagging issues like a stuttering framerate and random network problems, made us think a delay was for the best. Well, looks like the SOCOM team agrees.
In a recent post on SOCOM.com, Seth Luisi notes that "Unfortunately, even working late into the nights and every weekend, we've had to re-evaluate our schedule. Our top priority is delivering the best SOCOM online experience possible. Tough decisions had to be made and we've decided to push back the release date to October 14th, 2008. We just had to face the facts and do what is best for the title. Rather than sacrifice features, quality and stability, we had to do the right thing and re-adjust our schedule.
Obviously, this means those that are eagerly awaiting the beta (in addition to the final game) will have to be a little bit more patient. In the case of SOCOM Confrontation, we're confident that the delay will be worth it.

I Know Jack has managed to do it, as I have and we have downloaded the US PS Store Qore magazine which has interviews and videos etc from Slant Six. The game is looking awesome I can tell you. The other thing about downloading the magazine is that you get a link to the Beta when it is available. The magazine costs $2.99 and is 1500MB you have to be able to fund an american PSN User to be able to do it.
Here is how you can get a US user
Create a New PS3 User (From Very Left hand Menu)
Log in to the machine as that user then goto Sign Up for a Playstion Network Account. Create a new user and follow the information you need to enter. You must have a different email account to the one you used for your EU user. You must also have a valid US address, so goto www.toysrus.com and use their store locator to find a US postal address and use that on your registration. Now you have a US account and if you goto the PS Store Icon it will send you to the US Store. But you can not buy anything as you have no funds in your wallet and it will not yet you use an EU Credit card. So.........
Goto www.ebay.com and type in Playstation Network Card... a list will come up of $20 and $50 cards, click on buy it now and purchase a network card. The seller will send you the voucher code within 24hrs and you just enter that on you manage wallet funds option and it will put the amount into your wallet.
